A Fun Filled 4th With My 4!

For weeks we have been preparing the girls for the 4th of July & all that it stands for. They were super excited as they are for every holiday & it definitely could not have gotten here any sooner. We decided to stretch the holiday out over 3 days & threw our own lil' pool party, made an American smoothie (using red, white, & blue ingredients), & spent a lil' time celebrating with Daddy at work in addition to the events planned for the actual day.

The actual 4th of July began with breakfast at our favorite spot, Cracker Barrel. Despite the rainy day, the girls loved seeing all the families out & patriotism at its finest. After being seated I joked at first that we were probably taking up all the booster seats in the whole restaurant, but after looking around I realized that the joke might actually be a reality as I saw many toddlers lapping it with their parents..Oops.

After enjoying a fabulous breakfast we hit up a toy store just to spend a lil' time together & look around, before heading home for a quick nap. After eevryone was well rested, we took some time aside for a craft where we made Uncle Sam top hats & then created our own marching band to celebrate the 4th of July. The girls had a blast!

Fortunately, the rain subsided & we were able to grill some dinner & make strawberry shortcake for dessert! It was the first time the ladies had ever tried it & it definitely got an A+ from them.

As 9pm approached we then headed outside to enjoy the fireworks. I feel very fortunate to be able to see them from our house. We enjoyed the firework show with the faint sounds of a cat who must have been stuck somewhere making a screeching sound in the background, but it was super fun. Aidann & Asher really enjoyed it while Austin was a lil' more memorized by her glow in the dark American flag & bracelets. Adley was cool as a cucumber as she watched the bright lights & loud sounds of the fireworks. I guess having 3 active lil' sisters makes her not easily phased or disturbed by anything.

After returning home we let them stay up a lil' longer to watch the wonderful display put on in New York where Asher was the 1st to completely crash out. It was a great holiday & I treasured every single second of it. You have too!

Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July too!!!
